Thambbi, Mulund
Lazy Sunday morning hangover due to an amazing house party the night before. You don't even feel like getting up and eating breakfast. Well, all thanks to my friend who made me a wonderful glass of Lemonade with just the right amount of ice for a brain freeze. So after half an hour of drinking that we all sat and were deciding on where to head for Brunch. We decided to go to Thambbi at Mulund.
Fast forward to the scene at Thambbi. We reach there and we get place instantly without having to wait more than 5 mins. Settle down the waiter comes and serves us with water and hands over the menu. We take around 15 mins to decide on what we are going to eat though I knew that we will end up having Dosas or Idlis or Uttapams. We go through the menu contemplating whether to order any Super combos or just the dosas and idlis. Finally its decided and SURPRISE we order the super combos.
We order for some Mysore Masalas, Rava Sada Dosas, Tomato Uttappams, Puri Bhaji, Medu Wada, Sheera, etc as per the combo we had selected. Now the most crucial part is the wait time. We end up looking at people at the other table enjoying their meal and at times are given some weird glances. Finally, the order arrives and we all dig into our meal and frankly now it is our turn to give them the looks and weird glances they have been giving us (because of the quantity we had ordered, we hardly had the place to keep it on the table).
Liked the Mysore Masalas and Tomato Uttappam and the Sheera and esp. the Tea that was served in the end in proper South Indian style.
The place is pretty OK. Worth visiting on a day when you don't feel like cooking at home and you are craving for some South Indian food.
