Rude Lounge, Mulund
Since I am regular at Rude's in Powai and Thane and hearing that a new branch had opened up just nearby my place in Mulund I happened to go there on a Sunday evening. Like I said this place is very close to my home hardly 5 mins and since it was raining heavily decided to wear nothing great but a t-shirt and jeans with my Kitos. We reached the place and we asked for a table for 2. The guy standing at the entrance just kept staring at us and didn't react as if we were aliens to him. After a brief moments lapse we again told him table for 2 and that's when he asked for the name and the mobile number and he then he told us that Sir we do not allow people wearing open footwear. I was like I just stay nearby and it is raining heavily and hence dressed this way. He said its ok but please don't wear it next time and then he asked us to proceed to the roof. On reaching there I found that the rooftop dimly lit than what the lower level floors were. Also, there was music being played but didn't quite like it. After sitting I was just looking around when I happened to see that most of the groups sitting here were wearing Kitos and then I wondered why did the usher make such a statement?
Anyways we ordered a couple of drinks as they told us Pitcher was not available and so we had to stick to pints. We ordered for a Chk Crunchy and French Fries with Mayonnaise. The starters arrived and to my surprise, the quantity of mayo was so little that I inquired with the waiter about it and he said that's the only quantity that we serve here. I have been to Rude's in Powai, Thane & Bandra and I love indulging in French Fries with Mayonnaise and I have never ever got mayo as little as I got at the Mulund Branch. Chk Crunchy was found to be ok.
We ordered for Roast Lamb with Ginger Garlic and were told again that they are out of meat. Just finished our drinks paid and left.
All in all, I found the entire experience below average right from the start, with the usher at the door making a statement to the food quantity. Mulund Rude's really needs to scale up more on their services.
I will definitely prefer Powai and Thane over Mulund which are far better in their services
