MH04 - The Drunk Yard, Thane
Visited this place on a Saturday. When friends decided to meet. It is located in an industrial compound. The entry to this place is restricted and rights are reserved by the management. I had called and booked with them way before as being a Saturday and going without any reservation would have resulted in some serious damage. And I am glad I was right. We reached around 8:30 and Ajinkya, was kind enough to escort us to our tables.
One look at the place and it is indeed an old factory which is converted into a pub with very minimal changes. It does add to the rustic feeling one will get when in such a place. Lighting was similar to the lighting you see in clubs and lounge bars. The music was indeed loud. So if you have any plans of having a conversation this is not the place. Also, visit this place if you are in a mood to put on your dancing shoes. The DJ surely knows to set the mood and get people grooving. Around 9:30 pm, we saw a couple of people dancing near their tables. They do have a dance floor but with so many guests they had put tables on the dance floor too to accommodate them. So the only option left was to dance near your tables. Up to 11 pm, the DJ played English numbers and then he played some good Bollywood dance numbers.
Enough about the place let us get to the actual business other than dancing. The food yes how can you dance on an empty stomach? Our man for this purpose was Pawan, who helped us with all our needs and was always around ensuring we were not left out.
We ordered some drinks and some Cheesy French Fries, Masala French Fries, Sesame Chk, Prawns Cocktail, Chicken Tikka, Alfredo.
Cheesy French Fries could have been better if they used more of cheese and less of the flour in it.
Masala French Fries were too good and cooked to perfection. Prawns Cocktail was served well balanced with Iceberg lettuce and the thousand island dressing on it.
Sesame Chicken was cooked well with the proper blend of spices.
Chicken Tikka was OK not up to my expectations as I didn't find the chicken tender enough. Though everyone else at the table enjoyed it.
Alfredo was made to perfection with it not being too dry and not too wet. Loved the flavors.
A place to visit if you are really looking forward to some drinks and dance.
