Masala Library, Bandra Kurla Complex
Had been to Masala Library around 2 weeks back with family. Must say the ambiance does really have an effect on you. This place is generally booked always and you should always try and make a prior booking most of the time the wait time is 2 weeks or even more. Luckily we had got a booking for a Sunday evening with only 2 slots available 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Chose the 7:30 pm slot and reached there. We were escorted to our table. The restaurant is quite chilly since it was also raining the evening we had been there. Also, a little bit of mosquitoes is the mood spoiler.
The menu here is thoughtfully crafted and a lot of brainstorming has gone into the selection of dishes available on the menu. Before the appetizers were served we were served with bun Maska (compliments from the chef). Then we ordered some lemon and coriander soup & mushroom chai soup (served in the form of tea). Just loved the taste it had on our palates. Then we ordered for Dal Chawal Achar Papad which was served to us in the form of a pakoda (yes it is indeed an appetizer). Also, their Dahi Pakoda Kebab ( not very sure about the name though) was an absolute delight for the palates. To finish off with appetizers we were again given compliments from the chef Misti Doi Lollipop (just loved it) They call it as a teaser for our palates and it truly does what it says.
For the main course, we ordered and gorged on Lachha Parathas & Naan and Rotis along with Aloor Dom (Bengali dish of aloo with mustard gravy) tangy and a little bit spicy. To end the evening on a perfect note we ordered Jalebi Caviar with Rabdi and Foamed Saffron Milk which was made to perfection. Again our palates were treated to compliments from the chef Cotton Candy FLoss (Pan Flavoured).
All in all, we had a really good time. I would definitely rate the food here a 5* but due to the mosquitoes inside the restaurant, I will rate the place only a 4*.
